Series Roundup: (John) Carpenter Redux
Way back in 2016, the Fear of God launched its very first series of episodes, focusing on the work of John Carpenter - at that time featuring THE FOG, THEY LIVE, THE THING, and HALLOWEEN (listen at the links!). It’s quite the little time capsule, listening to those episodes now, given Reed’s penchant for decidedly explaining when it comes to Carpenter, coupled with Nathan’s clear lack of comprehension on how to be himself on a mic… at least compared to now.
So it only made sense that if we were going to revisit a horror icon, we take another stab at the work of John Carpenter. A lot has happened in the five years since Round 1, and time has been kind to at least FrankenNathan’s understanding of Carpenter’s oeuvre and our abilities as podcasters have surely matured since those bygone days.
The last 4 weeks, we’ve featured four and a half Carpenter films as part of the follow up series, itself an arm of our bigger mega (M-M-M-MEGA!) series focusing on Stranger Things Season 4.
