The Complete Conversation: Leftovers, Season 2

The journey to letting the mystery be continues. Phase 2 of our extended series on learning how to lose, anchored in the full seasons of HBO's THE LEFTOVERS, dealt with paradigm shifts -- the places we find ourselves where what we knew and thought we knew is completely turned upside down. Narratively, the Leftovers pivoted to the town of Jarden, Texas -- the only place in the country where no one had vanished in the Departure. But the people who live there holds secrets of their own, and despite their collective repetition that "we are spared", they would come to know how fragile that security truly was.

This season presented a chance to not only discuss some incredible character-based storytelling, but also to come to terms with the painful and difficult question the arc of the season was asking us: "Why are we losing?"
