Dark Night of the Scarecrow
Before we venture into our official Spooky Season, we have a prelude of sorts featuring a film that Reed has been wanting to discuss for years. We have another official #LackeyLeftover with 1981's DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW. Broadly considered to be one of the greatest made for television horror films of all time, Dark Night of the Scarecrow is deceptively simple but very tightly constructed. It leverages minimalism in both narrative and style to tell a powerful story about men who carried out vigilante violence on an innocent man and the ways their choices haunt and destroy them.
Featuring a stellar cast of character veterans, an impressive script, and excellently crafted suspense sequences, Dark Night of the Scarecrow is a powerfully effective film that delivers thoughtful chills with impressive resonance. Also featuring a Patron-only segment where Nathan attempts to #StumpReed, this is a great conversation about a great film and we hope you enjoy it!
