B-Sides #7: Silence & Darkness, interview with Barak Barkan
Silence & Darkness is a wonderful independent thriller about two sisters -- one blind and the other deaf -- who live in a peaceful, pastoral home with their father. However, when a neighbor pays them an unexpected visit, a disturbing mystery begins to unfold which points to a possibly much more sinister truth about their life together.
Reed had the privilege to watch and review Silence & Darkness for More Than One Lesson and reached out to writer and director Barak Barkan for a discussion about the project and his passion for film as a whole. It is rare to find such a unique and fascinating film which was truly crafted with an independent spirit and an impressive display of talent. We hope you will seek out and enjoy the film, one of the most uniquely impressive under-the-radar entries of 2020.
We felt honored to be able to discuss it with the director and we hope you will enjoy the conversation.
