I Stream, You Stream: The FoG Streaming Movie Update for December 2020

This is your monthly curated update for of the newest offerings in horror from three of the most popular streaming video services: Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Shudder. All of these have been added to the services between November 26 and December 20, 2020. Leave a comment below or in the Fear of God Facebook Group post to let others know your thoughts about these or anything else that is streaming.

Among these new offerings, Amazon Prime has “The Dead Zone” and Netflix has “Monster House” - both recently covered on FoG podcast episodes. Shudder has a lot of holiday horror including a new Joe Bob Briggs special, and a new slate of 15 gialli (not necessarily Christmas films, but released as “Shudder’s Holly Gialli Christmas”). Additionally, Prime has “Full Moon High” a joke-a-minute 1981 werewolf comedy starring Adam Arkin, Ed McMahon, Alan Arkin, and Young Frankenstein’s Kenneth Mars; and “Dread,” a British indie adaptation of a Clive Barker short story about college students who do a school project documentary study on fear, with unintended consequences. Also, Netflix now has the 2016 thriller “Nocturnal Animals,” starring Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon, and few other other A-list stars. Happy streaming - and watch out because lots of stuff usually expires unannounced at the end of the year!

Each of the 5 categories below has a handful of relatively newly available movies in each: Recommended (I've seen and like), Looks Interesting (I haven't personally seen it, but looks intriguing), FOG Canon (subject of a previous or upcoming Fear of God podcast episode, or sequel/prequel/remake-of), Heads Up (I’ve seen & don’t necessarily recommend or I intentionally skipped, but...I think some of you out there would appreciate a heads up). I’ve also included a category of TV Shows for horror/thriller/sci-fi series that have added new seasons and that I recommended or look intriguing.
